Primary 6, JSS 3, SSS 3 pupils resume in Oyo


IN keeping with the directives by the Oyo State Government, pupils of primary and secondary schools in terminal classes resumed studies on Monday amid strict compliance with the COVID-19 protocol.



Those in terminal classes are pupils in Primary 6; the Junior Secondary School 3, as well as the Senior Secondary School 3 students.



The Governor Seyi Makinde-led government had directed both private and public primary and secondary schools in the state to resume after putting in place facilities to take care of the safety of both the learners and staff in the schools.



As early as 7:30am on Monday, teachers were already on the ground in nearly all the schools in Ibadan metropolis.



The state President, National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, Pastor Kayode Adeyemi, said, “We are happy now that schools in the state are opening in phases. We are looking forward to the time when schools will open fully.”



Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Nureni Adeniran, who went round some schools in the state on Monday, had expressed worries about the security situation in some of the public schools.
