RCCG donates foodstuffs to residents

The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Region 12, Sagamu, Ogun State and the True Vine Assembly Parish of the RCCG in Unity Estate, Egbeda in Lagos have donated foodstuffs to residents of their communities to cushion the effect of the coronavirus lockdown.

In separate statements on Monday, the clerics said food items such as cartons of noodles, bags of rice, garri, among others, worth millions of naira were given out to the people.

The pastor in charge of the RCCG, Region 12, Sagamu, Pastor Julius Olalekan, stated that the gesture was in line with the directive of the church’s General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

Olalekan said, “This is even coming at a time we are celebrating our Lord Jesus who gave Himself for mankind on the cross of Calvary. So, there is nothing too big to give in support of one another this period. This is really our third outing and we will still do more to ensure that our people do not go hungry.”

Also, the pastor in charge of RCCG True Vine Assembly Parish, Unity Estate, Egbeda in Lagos, Kikelomo Ifekoya, while distributing food items to residents, urged Nigerians to cooperate with the government to curtail the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
