The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control made this known on Friday via its Twitter handle.
“As at 10:10 pm 17th April there are 493 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Nigeria,” it announced, adding that a total of 159 recoveries have been made while 17 deaths have been recorded, unfortunately.
Of its 283 infections, Lagos has recorded 10 deaths while the Federal Capital Territory Abuja with 69 cases, has also reported some fatalities, amongst others.
There are 27 active cases in Kano State while 20 infections have been recorded in Osun State.
Edo and Oyo States have recorded 15 cases each while Ogun State has recorded 10 cases.
Kwara and Katsina States have recorded nine infections each while Bauch, Kaduna and Akwa Ibom States have recorded six viruses each.
Delta State has four cases while Ondo and Ekiti States have three cases each.
Enugu, Rivers and Niger States have two cases each while one case has been reported in Benue and Anambra States.
