The National Orientation Agency on Wednesday called on Nigerians, especially those residing in flood-prone areas, to immediately relocate to safer areas to avoid loss of lives.
The agency said they should “urgently heed the recent warning of the Nigerian Hydrological Services Agency about impending flood in some states of the federation,” while children should “wait in school until after rain before leaving for home.”
The states listed by NIHSA as likely to be affected by flooding include Kwara, Edo, Kogi, Rivers, Anambra and the Federal Capital Territory.
