The Edo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress has commended the state governor, Godwin Obaseki, over what it described as the party’s remarkable outing in the 2019 general elections.
The party noted that the APC won all the 24 seats in the state House of Assembly, describing it as remarkable.
It added that the results of the state assembly elections were “implicit and explicit confidence vote in Governor Godwin Obaseki by citizens of the state.”
The party, in a statement on Sunday by its state Publicity Secretary, Chris Azebamwan, said it had resolved to continue to give Obaseki’s administration the needed support to keep it focused.
The statement read in part, “Members were unanimous in their conclusion that the House of Assembly election results equate an explicit vote of confidence in Governor Godwin Obaseki by the citizens of Edo State who have indicated their preference for a House of Assembly that would be supportive of the vision and mission of the governor without any distraction whatsoever.
“Members, therefore, resolve that in line with the mandate, the party would continue to sustain its avowed commitment to give the government and administration of Mr Godwin Obaseki the needed support to keep it focused and on track.”
The state APC congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari on his well-deserved victory, and the National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole for the overall success of the party nationwide.
