Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has finally fulfilled his promise to rebuild Gospel artiste, Yinka Ayefele’s Music House, which was allegedly demolished by his administration on August 19, 2018.
At the time, the singer had dismissed the state government’s claim that the building, which is located in the Challenge area of Ibadan, had flouted the housing rules of the state as false.
With tremendous support from social users, Ayefele denied breaking any such existing law. He had also claimed that the demolition was politically motivated. His insistence that the demolished building, which housed his music studio and a radio station, was the product of over 20 years hard labour had ignited protests online and calls from his fans urging the state government to rebuild the Music House.
The government eventually responded to the calls by commencing the reconstruction of the Music House last November straight on the heels of reconciliatory meeting between the artiste and Ajimobi. The current development, no doubt, is the result of that meeting.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, an elated Ayefele on Tuesday expressed his gratitude to the governor for rebuilding the Music House.
Ayefele took to the social media to appreciate the gesture by posting a message thanking Ajimobi.
The message read, “The management and staff of Yinka Ayefele Limited is using this medium to thank his Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi for rebuilding the music house.”
Many of the singer’s fans also congratulated him on the latest development.
