Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, on Wednesday said the time had come for the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to become Nigeria’s President.
Ortom stated this when he received members of the North Central Women Unite for Atiku-led by their President, Mrs Dorcas Din.
The governor said all things were working towards Atiku’s success in the 2019 general elections.
Ortom said the former Vice President had the capacity to provide purposeful leadership for Nigerians, as well as turning around the nation’s economy.
He said it was hypocritical for the APC-led Federal Government to demonise opposition members by sending anti-graft agencies after them, only for the same people to become “saints” whenever they joined the APC.
He assured the women of his administration’s support to ensure victory for Atiku.
Din had earlier lamented that women had fared badly in the past three years at at the federal level.
