A recent declaration made by the world largest entrepreneurship
organization, Africa's Young Entrepreneurs (AYE) has ranked the Delta State Governor;
Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has the most efficient Governor in job creation and youth
empowerment.
The Governor will be celebrated alongside other business
giant at the November 30 conference which is set to be headlined by the
majority shareholder of Africa’s largest retail store, Shoprite Holdings; Dr.
Christoffel Wiese, Africa’s richest black woman; Mrs. Folorunso Alakija, Former
Nigerian President; Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Former Governor of Lagos State and
business tycoon, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been marked as the event of the
year by several top business/entertainment platforms in Africa.
In the past few months, Governor Okowa of Delta State had
earlier declared that the two major reasons responsible for recent call for
restructuring, resource control and secession by various groups across the
country are hunger and unemployment.
In his tenure as Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi
Okowa’s administration has been able to add immense value to the Nigerian
economy by supporting hundreds of entrepreneurial innovations which resulted to
the establishment of a job creation centre and innovation hub in Delta state.
Coupled with several empowerment schemes such as the “Hand
made in Delta, YAGEP, STEP, GEEP, and CBN Anchor Borrowers Programmes, his
administration has been able to empower and train over 4,300 youths in various
agricultural and skill acquisition programmes with over 28,000 direct and
indirect jobs created in the last two years.
A.Y.E encourages social entrepreneurship with role models,
powerful mentors, social innovators, thought leaders, forward thinking
investors and people passionate about addressing a range of societal and
environmental challenges.
Without much argument, A.Y.E has chosen to recognize and
celebrate Governor Ifeanyi alongside other giants at the 3rd Annual Conference
this November for his tremendous efforts towards putting an abrupt end to
unemployment and encouraging Entrepreneurship in Delta State.
With the caliber and diversity of industry leaders billed to
attend the conference, The Delta state Governor is keen on reawakening the
latent entrepreneurial spirit in the youth population.
From his passion for entrepreneurship and his key interest
in creating jobs, Governor Okowa will also be empowering 25 entrepreneurs who
are indigenes of his State out of the 500 successful AYEEN 2017 Beneficiaries.
The annual conference, according to the President of A.Y.E,
Mr. Summy Smart Francis, is an exceptional platform for some of the world’s
most accomplished business leaders to network with perhaps the brightest
entrepreneurs in Africa.
“It provides ample opportunity for individuals with
vibrant business ideas to network with established industry leaders, policy
makers and outstanding investors from around the globe to draw priceless,
life-transforming inspirations from success stories” he stated.
Also attending the conference are top executives of
Nigeria’s leading online stores, banks, telecommunication companies, Chambers
