Following the resumption of the suspended strike by Academic
Staff Union of Lagos State Polytechnic, the Students’ Union Government (SUG) of
the institution has said it will shut all the school gates today.
In a release obtained by our correspondent yesterday, the
students’ body said they held a meeting with relevant stakeholders of the
school in connection with the ongoing strike action in the institution, stating
that it was agreed at the meeting that the students should shut all the school
gates yesterday (Tuesday) which was achieved and today (Wednesday).
According to the release, students are to resume back to the
protest at all campuses of the polytechnic today 7th of June 2017 by 6am, calling
upon all students who are passionate about returning to school to join this
peaceful protest tomorrow.

Oluwatimilehin in another release said he salute the courage of dogged and
rugged comrades who had made the resolutions which led to the actions displayed
in the school yesterday.
“As a matter of urgency, I want us to remember we are not
fighting anybody nor Union. We are only taking this measure to expedite our ‘Permanent
Resumption on Campus’ as we won't fold our hands and watch our future being
Jeopardized as Freedom Cometh by Struggle,”
“On this note, I call to remind us not to be discouraged as
we are getting to our CanaanLand soon. No Pharaoh would stop this Red Sea of
Ours from Opening,”
“Come Wednesday Morning by 6am we shall shut down the School
permanently as no activities would operate on campus,” Oluwatimilehin said.
