Owerri erupted in fun and excitement
as the second edition of Legend Taste & Tell in-bar activation berthed at
Winter Suite Hotel, Owerri, capital of Imo State, recently.
The high point of the event was the
‘Taste and Tell’ game where participants who correctly identified Legend Extra
Stout from three unmarked glasses containing three different stout drinks were
rewarded with fantastic prizes. Some of the prizes won on the night included
brand new TVs and bedside refrigerators among others.
Gift Chukwuoti, a 500 Level medical
student at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, was rewarded with a 9.5kva generator
for correctly picking out Legend Extra Stout from the three unmarked glasses. A
visibly elated Chukwuoti was full of praises for Legend Extra Stout. He
confessed that he never expected to go home with such a prize as he had no
prior knowledge of that the activation would take place that night.
He said: “This is quite surprising
for me; I’m really short of words. When I came, I wasn’t expecting something
like this would happen, but here I am going home with a giant generating set. I
want to thank Legend Extra Stout for this,” said Chukwuoti
On how he was able to identify the
brand from the other unidentified stout brands, Chukwuoti attributed the feat
to his loyalty to the brand. “I’ve been loyal to Legend Extra Stout for four
years now, so I couldn’t have missed that unique bitter taste that only Legend
possesses.”
Chukwuebuka Augustine, an upcoming
artiste, and Chilaka Vitalis, a 300 Level undergraduate of Quantity Surveying
at the Federal Polytechnic, Uwana, were also rewarded with a refrigerator and a
brand new TV respectively.
For the duo, the rich feel of the
foam head, and the unique bitter taste were key features of the brand that
earned them the prizes.
Marketing Manager, Lager and Stout,
Nigerian Breweries Plc., Emmanuel Agu, explained that the Legend Taste and Tell
in-bar activation aims to reinforce in consumers the unique great taste of
Legend Extra Stout. He added that the activations would further drive home the
key attributes of the brand and provide an interactive platform between the brand
and its teeming consumers across the country.
Stressing that the Taste & Tell
train will touch several cities across Nigeria over the next few months, Agu
encouraged consumers of the brand to be on the lookout for the activation.
